Hey Wendy!
Brett, why would you go along with Monica to the end, while it should have been clear she was the largest threat in every aspect of the game? Now I don't want no "I was laying low" shizz. There was opportunities to switch things up. Why didn't you take them?It was never my intention to go to the Finals with Monica. I made an alliance with Steph (who was also aligned with Natalie at the time) as soon as I joined Kainai, and my plan was always to go to the Finals with them. The problem is, there weren't actually as many opportunities to switch things up as you might think. And when there were opportunities, it wouldn't necessarily have been in my best interest to take them.
Final 12I could have flipped on Kainai and voted with you and Rob, but we still needed someone else to flip. And there were so many sub-alliances/loyalties on Kainai that even if we did get someone else to flip, word would have gotten around and it would have blown up in our faces because everyone was feeding information to everyone. Plus, everyone knew the merge was coming soon, and Athena looked pretty tight because they had all played together in Cb Survivor 4. I wanted to make sure that whoever stayed that round would stay together, and I was more confident in Steph, Natalie and Monica staying loyal than I was in you and Rob.
Final 9I could have pulled a Cochran move and joined with the other tribe, but Phillip was the only person I had talked to from Athena at that point, and he never talked about me switching. Even if I did switch, that would have put me in the Final 5, tops, and I was already confident that I could make the Final 4 with Steph, Natalie and Monica.
Final 8This round was a Double Elimination and I didn't have immunity, so I wanted to play it safe. If people started thinking I was going to flip I would have put a target on myself... And, since it was a Double Elimination round, I couldn't trust Athena. If I had switched, Athena could have told me to throw my vote one way, and meanwhile the 4 of them might have voted for me anyway. So I figured it would be better to stick with my safest bet.
Final 6 and onAt the Final 6, I took a good look at who all was still in the game, and I analyzed who I needed to keep around, who I needed to vote out a/s/a/p, and who I had the best shot of winning against in the Final 3.
My biggest competition was definitely NaOnka. She had a lot of support on the jury, and I still believe she would have won against anyone in the Final 6. Plus she had won several challenges, and she easily could have won herself a spot in the Finals.
The next biggest threat was Jolt. Jolt made the first (and biggest, in my opinion) power move of the game when he gave his Hidden Idol to NaOnka and blindsided you, Wendy. While he pissed off some people, I think a lot of people respected him for making a game-changing move, and he could have wooed over the jury.
Next was Monica. Monica played a better social/strategic game than Natalie and Steph, and she did better in challenges. But Monica also made a lot of questionable moves/mistakes in the game (e.g. telling everyone when she used the Hidden Idol, taking the game to a personal attack level with Phillip, and constantly telling people she was happy to be voted out next). I outperformed Monica in several challenges, so I felt confident that I would be able to beat her at the Final 4. She definitely was a great player, and I'm not taking anything away from that. But I felt like I had a better shot of beating Monica than I did against NaOnka or Jolt.
Anyway, NaOnka won immunity at the Final 6, so we voted out Jolt. At the Final 5, I balanced plates for 5 hours to ensure that NaOnka didn't get immunity, and then we voted her out. And at the Final 4, I won the Final Immunity Challenge with the intention of granting Monica's wish to be voted out right after Phillip... and Jolt... oh yeah, and NaOnka.
The only thing I didn't account for was Natalie. When I join these games, I assume that everyone is playing the game to win, and that everyone is going to make strategic decisions that will help them to be the Ultimate Survivor. So when we got down to the Final 4 and I had won Immunity, I thought it would be a pretty easy decision for everyone to vote out Monica... But Natalie said that she had been friends with Monica since last season so she wouldn't vote her out, and that she was just glad that we all got to the end and didn't care how it ended.
*headdesk*
So, that put a stick in my plans. The final vote was Steph and I voting for Monica, and Monica and Natalie voting for Steph. I'm sorry that my decision was partly responsible for delaying the game, but my plan was always to vote out Monica at the Final 4 (or sooner if I could do so without jeopardizing my position in the game), ever since the initial tribe switch.
Brett, what are your three favorite things about me?Ummm... What's not to love about a 48 year old Goat Farmer with an extensive collection of hats and a husband that tells her she needs to not talk so much if she wants to make it past the first episode of Survivor?
1. You tell it like it is and don't hold back. Honestly, you scare me. Of everyone on the jury, I was most worried about your comments because I knew you'd rip me a new asshole if you wanted to (and trust me, I don't feel like I'm out of the woods yet!). But as scary as it sometimes is, it's also something that I like about you. And I love that you usually play as Wendy Jo, the sweet ol' goat farmer that was booted first for not opening up to her tribe... The irony in that is fan-tastic.
2. You know how to play the game and you respect others who do too. As the original winner of Cb Survivor, you're somewhat of an icon. Even though most people probably weren't around for the first season, you're reputation precedes you as the strategic, manipulative mastermind of Season 1. And even though you were Idol'ed this season, I think you respect the move that Joel made to take you out.
3. You don't give up. You're a fighter, and I don't think you would ever roll over and give up. You outlasted everyone else on the Chehalis Tribe, but even when you were in the minority you fought to stay in the game.
Brett, ranking the 7 continents and give an explanation as to why they ranked where they ranked.I'm going to rank them based on where I'd like to travel to the most...
1. Africa - I don't know if it's the majestic wildlife, or the oddly-shaped trees, or the native tribal cultures, or just my childhood fascination with The Lion King, but there's just something about Africa that I've always been intrigued by. The Watering Hole webcam might have something to do with it too. Still, Africa seems pretty amazing to me.
2. Australia - The land of kangaroos, didgeridoos, and the Crocodile Hunter (RIP), Australia seems like it has a distinct culture unlike anywhere else in the world. I'd definitely go visit P Sherman, 42 Wallaby Lane, Sydney, Australia.
3. North America - Even though I live in North America, there's so much to see and do that I haven't seen or done yet... So I'd like to see and do it.
4. South America - They have some nice rainforests, and a lot of deserted ruins scattered around the landscape... and a giant statue of Jesus. </brandon hantz>
5. Europe - I like old architectural things, so Europe would probably be a pretty cool destination. But seems like a bad time to go.
6. Asia - I don't know much about Asia... Some people seem to love it, other people have bad stories about it.
7. Antarctica - I like snow and penguins, but I'm not sure what else there is in Antartica...
Thanks Wendy!
